Two natricine snakes, Hebius gilhodesi and Herpetoreas davidi, are reported for the first time from India based on mitochondrial DNA and morphological data. This study extends the northwestern-most distribution of H. gilhodesi by 107 km and H. davidi by 577 km, both of which were thus far known only from adjacent Myanmar. Additionally, a detailed description of the hemipenial morphology of H. gilhodesi is provided.
