Abstract

 This study documented coprophagy in two subspecies of the Egyptian Vulture (EV), Neophron percnopterus percnopterus and Neophron percnopterus gingianus, at the Jorbeer carcass dump in Rajasthan, India. We discuss the ecological implications of this behaviour, its potential nutritional benefits, and its role in vulture foraging strategies. The Jorbeer carcass dump serves as a unique ecosystem in the grassland that supports a diverse community of scavengers.
