Abstract

East Godavari district is one of the biodiversity rich areas in Andhra Pradesh. Floral explorations were conducted between 2008 and 2011 and recorded 16 tree species as new records of the forest flora of East Godavari District. Of these, three trees Albizia thompsoni Brandis, Lasiococca comberi Haines and Nothopegia heyneana (Hook. f.) Gamble  are significant as their occurrence is restricted only to a few states in India. A brief description, distribution, and phenology are provided for these species.
