Report on the genus Herdonia Walker (Lepidoptera: Thyrididae) in Karnataka Western Ghats, India
Main Article Content
Abstract
Genus Herdonia comprises more than 34 species worldwide. Only one species H. osacesalis have been recorded from northeastern states in Darjeeling, West Bengal and Meghalaya. In our recent surveys in Chettalli, Kodagu, Karnataka we have collected H. thaiensis. This is the first documentation of range extension of both the genus Herdonia and the species H. thaiensis to the Western Ghats (Kodagu, Karnataka) of peninsular India.
