Sighting of Sooty Gull Ichthyaetus hemprichii from the salt pans of Nagapattinam Coast, Tamil Nadu, India

Here we report the occurrence of a rare winter migrant, Sooty Gull Ichthyaetus hemprichii, from the eastern coast of Tamil Nadu. This is the fourth record of the species along the eastern coast and the third for Tamil Nadu.
