A first record of Hemithyrsocera palliata Fabricius, 1798 (Blattodea: Blattellidae: Blattellinae): an addition to the fauna of Maharashtra, India

Abstract

The Hemithyrsocera palliata is a shining dark brown about 12mm sized cockroach. Pronotum sub-elliptical, black with golden yellow margin. In India, the taxon is reported from Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Karnataka, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu and Tripura.   It is now recorded from Sangirdewadi, Kudal, Sindhudurga of Maharashtra for the first time which is an addition  for Blattodea of Maharashtra.   H. palliata is pictured and described for the first time in the literature.
